Brisbane Hotel

Brisbane Hotel

Situated right on the corner of Brisbane and Beaufort Street, Perths hippest thoroughfare, the Brisbane Hotel, once a decaying old icon, has been transformed into a bustling and vibrant venue abundant in community cool but losing none of its pub values.

The Brisbane is somewhat a reinvention of the classic pub, set in urban and contemporary surroundings. Our eclectic blend of customers and staff creates a welcoming and dynamic character, offering a sense of familiarity for our patrons. The Brisbane is a local pub for city folk.

Our modern pub food is served in healthy proportions using the freshest of local ingredients. What you can expect from The Brisbane is an enthusiastic welcome, quality fresh cuisine, premium affordable wines, innovative design, a lush terraced beer garden and outstanding service.

Built in 1898 as a local working mans pub the character and clientele of The Brisbane remained largely unchanged until a lack-lustre renovation during the 1980s. Then in 2004 utilising the original framework of the hotel, The Brisbane underwent an impressive renovation blending old with new by adding strong architectural design elements.

Geoff Hayward is the owner of the hotel and one of Perths most highly regarded hospitality entrepreneurs, synonymous with establishing venues that promote excellence. Geoffs style is well recognised in Western Australia and the Brisbane Hotel team awarded nationally, winning New Hotel of the Year 2005 and Hotel of the Year 2006 and again in 2008.

The Brisbane Hotel is fresh and contemporary, whilst in keeping with the urban inner-city aesthetic and traditional Australian pub values. The architecture and laid-back interior design are striking and at ease, the impressive outdoor spaces typically West Australian. The seamless blend of casual and chic is typical of Geoff Haywards venues and although the surroundings are high-end, there is no pretension with the food or service.

The Brisbanes location on Beaufort Street is not unlike Brunswick or Fitzroy Streets in Melbourne in that it is the hub of city life. The people that comprise the local community are a blend of artisans, young professionals, bohemians, students, the creative communities and those enjoying a fashionable inner-city lifestyle.

In an interesting twist, upstairs at the Brisbane has been established a Perth entertainment gem, Lazy Susans Comedy Den. Lazy Susans provides WA audiences with local, national and international comedy acts weekly.
