Iconic Scottish band Simple Minds will be bringing their '40 Years of Hits' tour to Margaret Court Arena on December 1 2020!

Simple Minds who have sold more than 60 million albums have been musical pioneers for 40 glittering years. Catching the mood of the post-punk era when the angry sounds of 1977 were splintering into a thousand different shapes they emerged with a style ingrained in the art-rock of David Bowie and the electronic dance of Donna Summer. They went on to become one of the great bands of their generation deploying rousing choruses and booming atmospherics to provide a soundtrack that has endured.

Simple Minds to celebrate 40 years with Australia 2020 tour
Seems good things come in fortiesScottish rockers Simple Minds are on their way back to Australia.

Twelve months from now in November 2020 the band will bring 40 years of incredible hits to our shores for a run of very special a day on the green winery shows.

The tour is a special one because it coincides with the release of Simple Minds' latest song collection aptly titled 40 the 40-track compilation features all your favourite tunes from across Simple Minds' career alongside a new song a cover of ‘For One Night Only' by Scottish singer-songwriter King Creosote.

With a style that's ingrained in the art-rock of David Bowie and the electronic dance of Donna Summer Simple Minds have gone on to become one of the great bands to emerge out of the post-punk era and all these years later are still dazzling audiences with the same energy and ferocity that made Australian fans fall in love with songs like ‘Don't You (Forget About Me)' and ‘Alive and Kicking'. It was Australia that gave Simple Minds their first hit single ‘Love Song' and their first gold album New Gold Dream - so when singer Jim Kerr says that Simple Minds has a love affair with Australia he means it.

They first performed in Australia with Icehouse in 1981 and following that six-week run they have been regular visitors to our shores.

Simple Minds will be joined by UK electronic pioneers Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark who will be touring Australia for the first time in more than 30 years alongside Aussie chart-toppers Eurogliders.
