Gascoyne Growers Markets
Every Saturday morning from May to October the Carnarvon town centre comes alive with the Gascoyne Growers Markets. The market is a run by the growers themselves, who often pick their produce just the night before the market (sometimes even that very morning) to ensure you take home the freshest, tastiest produce in WA.
A visit to the markets makes it very clear why the Gascoyne has the well earned reputation of being the salad bowl of WA, with a surprisingly diverse range of fruit and vegetables, lush tropical fruits, eggs and seafood on offer. Fill your basket then grab a coffee and some breakfast, listen to the buskers, or browse through the adjacent Arts and Craft market. The Gascoyne Growers Markets are proudly plastic bag free, so please remember to BYO bag.
Carnarvon has many free street parking spaces. The carpark behind the Carnarvon Civic Centre (enter off Camel Lane), is on the doorstep of the markets. Street parking is readily available along Robinson Street and side streets.
Dogs at the Market
In an effort to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience for all, the Gascoyne Growers Markets do not allow dogs in the marketplace. There are several places close to the marketplace where dogs can be tied up while you are shopping. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
There are a number of bank-operated machines at the ANZ Bank, BankWest and Commonwealth Bank in Robinson St.
Musicians and artists are welcome to busk at the Gascoyne Growers Markets. Please register with the market coordinator prior to your performance. Please be mindful of noise levels if using amplification and/or drums.
Public toilets can be found in the Carnarvon Civic Centre, and on Robinson Street (backing on to the marketplace).
